We understand that most of the time, the best things in life are small and sweet. Delicious and crunchy, our finely crafted caramelised nuts are a delicious treat for the whole family. The Nut Baron is a one-man business that began with a bag of almonds and a loving mother teaching me how to make the most delectable treats.
Famous throughout my native continent, caramelised almonds (gebrannte Mandeln, Addormentasuocere, Mandorle zuccherate, brændte mandler, brente mandler and brända mandlar) are a traditional holiday treat. Every year, for Christmas and fairs, we kids, friends and neighbours were given a bag of these freshly made delicious treats.
When my wife and I emigrated from Germany, we wanted to bring this special tradition to New Zealand and create something equally extraordinary and deliciously different. A favourite among family and friends, our rich, homemade caramelised almonds are a loved of both adults and children alike.
After hosting a Mid-Winter Christmas Event in 2020, the exceptionally positive response led to the inauguration of the Nut Baron Confectionery Ltd, bringing this truly tasty treat to the people of Aotearoa.
After months of research and testing, we’ve perfected our unique caramelisation system here in New Zealand to produce a truly exceptional product that can be enjoyed anywhere. We even imported a German made machine to get the coating as best as possible. Our delicious, caramelised nuts are made and packed with care by hand in small batches, using the finest ingredients available.
